Delayed opening: Greenville

Our Greenville office opens at noon on Friday, December 12.

SCDOR agents arrested a Charleston County man on December 9 and charged him with five counts of tax evasion.

Gurvinder Singh, 33, is the owner and operator of Indu Vanty LLC, a liquor store and two convenience stores in Charleston County. From 2019-2023, Singh reported more than $3 million in net taxable sales for all three stores to his accountant, according to arrest warrants. However, an SCDOR investigation showed that his sales were in excess of $5.2 million. As a result, Singh evaded more than $199,000 in South Carolina Sales Tax.

If convicted, Singh faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine for each count.
