What you need to know:
- South Carolina’s 2024 Tax Free Weekend begins Friday, August 2 and continues through Sunday, August 4.
- For 72 hours, eligible items including computers, school supplies, clothing, formal wear, graduation caps and gowns, purses, and certain bed and bath items can be purchased tax-free, in-store or online.
- Last year, South Carolina shoppers purchased more than $30.4 million in tax-free items during Tax Free Weekend.
South Carolina shoppers can save on a variety of school year essentials without paying Sales Tax during the state's annual 72-hour Tax Free Weekend, which begins tomorrow.
SCDOR reminds all South Carolinians that tax-exempt items can be purchased in-store or online Friday, August 2 at 12:01 a.m. through Sunday, August 4 at midnight.
Retailers can spread the word about their favorite Tax Free Weekend deals, and shoppers can share their savings and photos using the hashtag #SCtaxfree.
